    hey guys
you know when in a opening title of a movie you see people walking in front of the title? I just wonder how this is done
first time I saw this style was in Little Miss Sunshine
then many Tv shows and movies had this as well. any ideas? I hope it is not a frame by frame thing!!!

any other styles of opening titles you recommend?

Well, sorry to dash your hopes…

This is typically done in After Effects, but I’m sure someone could figure out how to do this with Motion too. Rotoscoping and keyframing…frame by frame.

This really easy to do in Motion with garbage mattes. It can take a lot of time because more often then not you have to go frame by frame.

Yes, it is. Some background information on rotoscoping.

The golden age of opening title sequences was the middle 50’s- middle 60’s. Some standouts to look at- Hitchcock’s “North by Northwest” and “Vertigo”, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”, “Dr. Strangelove”, “Charade” and the Pink Panther movies.
