• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  newbie query: capturing footage

  Hey guys, I’m new to Final Cut Pro but I have used it before but remember virtually nothing. I hope for my sake it is a simple fix, I’m using a PD150 camera and would like to get the footage taken on it.

  So… I hooked it up to the firewire, turned it on to the VCR setting on the PD150 camera, switched it on, even started playing the tape on the camera…..then in Final Cut, I went to Log and Capture when I got this message:

  “Unable to initialize video deck. You may still log offline clips or use Capture Now.”

  Any ideas? I must get this footage asap as I am to return the PD150 as it belongs to the university. Please tell me this is something simple….

  Make sure you have chosen the DV/NTSC Easy Setup first, so that FCP knows what sort of camera to look for.
