Just got an EX-3 and I’m trying to scale down 1080 25p XDCAM footage into a DV50 PAL sequence (just adding a few new images to an old project done in SD). Works OK just by dropping the new footage into the timeline, but not perfect. I get what can best be described as horisontal “lines” in the new footage. Does this have something to do with the XDCAM progressive footage becoming interlaced in the sequence? Any ideas or filters / plugins that might fix this problem, or is there another / better way to do this? Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciated.

Perhaps. I know that by default a DV NTSC sequence will be interlaced. Probably the same thing happens to DV PAL and DV50 PAL. Go to the browser and check the field order for your sequence and all your XDCAM progressive footage. Make sure everything is set to “none”.

Thanks for answering. Sequence is DV50 anamorphic lower field first, as is the DVCPro 50 material used in the sequence.
Could a plugin like Re:Vision’s Reinterlacer do the trick perhaps?
