  HDV to FCP Not quite right

  Hi Everyone

  An issue here that I have failed to come across on the forum so far. If anyone has come across this I would love to know their resolution!

  Issue:

  Shot a few hours of HDV 1080i50 on the SonyZ1e. All okay on the tapes, smooth playback on the camera, and HVR-M10 deck lcd.

  Capture to FCP -tried all these-( HDV 1080i codec, Apple ProRes, Apple Intermediate). Play back the quicktime files captured, and there is lag/stutter. Try the same thing on my older G5, the stutter is REALLY bad!

  *MacBookPro,Intel Core 2 Duo, Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz Memory:4 GB, Bus Speed:800 MHz, GeForce 8600M GT

  FCP 6.0.5

  Any ideas most welcome!

  Where did you capture the video to?
  Internal Drive?
  External Drive?

  If it is an external drive, how is that drive connected?

  There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

  Again internal drive or external?
