I’m working in a ProRes, full raster, 1080HD timeline for broadcast and I need to make some very simple text graphics. In terms of quality, is the text generator in FCP good enough? Or should I create the text in another program like Photoshop, Motion, AE, etc. Thank you.

Run as fast as you can away from FCP Text editor. LiveType, Motion or Boris Title is what you want to use.

If you don’t need it animated in any way then photoshop is great. If it needs to have some movement then Motion is simple enough.

    thanks for quick response.
I’ll probably go with LiveType Or Photoshop.
But do you mean Boris 3D within FCP?

Simple text stuff like subtitles I use the Title Tool. Lower thirds I use Boris 3D.
