  I have FCP on a Dual 2.5Ghz G5, going down the Firewire to a Sony Mini DV recorder, GV D900E, and then out to a Hitachi Widescreen Television as a monitor.
  Picture is great, but the message “Widescreen” keeps flashing up on the monitor as I play a sequence. Is there anything I can turn off in FCP, or anywhere else that will stop this happening?

  sounds like it’s a setting on your monitor?
