  • find named markers

Hello, I’m new on FCP. FCP 6.05, I’m trying to find named markers inside clips (mixed media: DV, EX3, etc) on the browser, but, although it does find some of the markers, it cannot find all of it, I tried several attempts and the results are always the same. It finds all of the clips but not all of the named markers. Is there something I’m missing? thanks

Try quitting and reopening your FCP project and make sure that the browser is selected when you hit find. Also, if you might have typos.

thanks Jeremy but no typos and already tried to restart FC and of course cmdF with cmd4 first. The “find all” only finds actual clips but no markers, expect if you do fn3 with all the clips open in the browser, I would like to know if this is a limitation or if there is something I don’t know how to do.

I think it’s a limitation. I find it less then spectacular. You can convert those markers in to subclips which might help you get a little farther.

like you cant search for markers in the browser, i guess!

from memory the only way FCP can find a marker in the browser if if the clip hap[pens to be toggled open, and the markers are showing.
    that’s pretty lame, really.

however, you CAN do a search for markers in the TIMELINE.
if you had less than 12 hrs of rushes that could be useful.
