Removing music from a quicktime file
Hi,
I know this may be the wrong forum to post this in, but I had to. Last decade, my employer produced a world famous action film and directed many of the fight scenes. He wants to put together a demo reel of those fight scenes, however there is a problem as usual. Since he does out have the foley and music for the movie, I have to find a way to remove music from the movie scenes (which I had to rip and convert into a quicktime) but keep the sounds and foley. I have basic knowledge of Soundtrack pro but if someone can give me a quick idea or a link to a tutorial to remove music I would be most thankful. If there isnt a good way to do it in a software, what would be the next best option.Thanks,

Once you have just a quicktime ALL the audio is completely mixed together. You can therefor ether remove all the audio or none of the audio.
Do do what you want to do, you would ether need the original project files and assets or have all the foley work redone.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

If it is a “world famous action film” then get the commercial DVD of the film and record the CENTER CHANNEL audio track from the fight scenes.
That center channel should have much of the foley audio effects, but none of the music.

The Producer already gave me both the DVD’s. How do i record just the central channel? What software would i need? Can I do it on soundtrack pro?
