  • Sony HD Handycam to Final Cut Pro Please HELP!!!

Hello everyone, I have a massive problem, or at least it feels that way. I shot 85% of my Music Video on a SOny HDR-CX100 HD Handycam that shoots on internal memory and Memory Sticks. I can’t figure out how to get the footage onto final cut pro. The scene that I shot on DV is fine, but I’m not sure what kind of files this Handycam shoots on? Has anyone delt with this issue? I would greatly appreciate any help you could offer.

I will be putting both the HDV and HD-Handycam footage together and hopefully it will be seemless cause I’m turing it all Black&White. Thank you.

I haven’t tried that, I actually don’t start editing till tonight. I just heard that I wouldn’t be able to digitize the way I do with DV and wanted some insight before I get started…

    Kevin,
I am having similiar problems with this handycam that my new company is using. Until I arrived, they had been editing on iMovie, so the camera is automatically recognized and it starts looking for footage almost instantly.
I use FCP, but in my log/capture or log/transfer it won’t recognize it. I’ve tried all the hdv settings, any sony setting , non controllable , everything i can think of. All I know is i want to NOT import to my hard drive everytime i import, but imovie doesn’t allow for any other storage location options.
so, right now my process is.. import to iMovie straight to my HD, then open FCP and import footage clips, moving their location to my external.
    god it’s awful…
    can you help?
