Power Mac lock up
Just replaced G5 with the Power Mac w Intel etc etc. Now, while editing in FCP, if I try and change any parameters in effects…system locks up. Can’t do ANYTHING in any environment FCP Finder whatever. This causes me to do a shutdown thereby losing what has not been saved prior to the lock. The Store I bought the Mac from did the data migration. Wanted to make sure it was done correctly. An help out there? I have run disk utilities and Cocktail.

First off your post is a little confusing as to your machine.

There was never a PowerMac with a Intel Processor, so I assume that you mean that you replaced your PowerMac G5 with a Intel MacPro.
As for your issue.

Final Cut Pro is not a program to migrate. FCP certain components into the OS and during a migration nothing in the OS gets moved, just data user data and apps.
Whenever setting up a new FCP work station always start with a clean install of the OS and and clean install of Final Cut.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
