  Final Cut 2, Text Crashing Program

  Everytime I try and use the Text feature on my Final Cut Pro 2 it crashes my computer.

  I either go through the drop down box or use the keyboard shortcut, and it will open up a new text box, but as soon as I click on “control” to type my text, I get the beach ball of death and then about 20 seconds later Final Cut 2 crashes.

  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

  No idea what is causing the crashing Tiffany, but I think this is a good opportunity for you to get use of the Boris 3D text.
  The default Text tool in FC is so crappy that most of the people wouldn’t miss it if disappear.

  Try repairing permissions. If you didn’t repair permissions before installing FCP, uninstall FCP, repair permissions, then re-install. Don’t know if it’ll help, but it seems that permissions cause a lot of problems on Mac’s.
