    Hey all,

My company cut some stuff in L.A. and now want me to do some re-edits here in Seattle. The edit company in L.A. uses Avid…I use FCP. The company down there has offered to “convert” the whole project, media, etc. to FCP but for a price tag of $2,000.

I’ve read a little about Automatic Duck and I know that is what it’s used for. Has anyone had much experience with it? Is it fairly straight forward or still a pain in the ass? What exactly do I need to get from the Avid editors to make this happen?

I would need to have access to everything…original media, timelines…just like I was working off an original FCP project. Is this possible with Automatic Duck?

    Thanks!!!

I have used it for almost 100 projects and it is flawless.

however, we never used the original Avid Media. We always recaptured everything on our end. Generally FCP does not play well with Avid originated media. But you can email Wes at Automatic Duck and he’ll tell you what does and does not work.
