Remember that BIG one about Apple selling off the ProApps last year? Yeah, spot on.

“And of course the BIG EVENT on March 25th I believe it was….
Of course Apple selling the ProApps in the future is something that might actually happen. I doubt it will be this year, but it could happen……

April 19, 2009 at 1:13 amI’m not holding my breath. We get what Apple gives us whenever they give us IF they give us. Those who leak info are dragged into the ravine behind Headquarters, lynched and buried in concrete so as not to ever be heard from again. It’s really a masochistic relationship the users have with the providers in our world, eh?
Frankly selling ProApps to a company that a little more…. interactive with it’s users would be great. Like AJA.

April 19, 2009 at 2:33 amCan’t you wait another day? Check in around 11 or 12 Pacific Time. That’s when the news conferences begin. If there is any new news, people will be blogging, twitting and Facebooking. Oh yeah, and posting on the Cow.

AHH! Don’t say that. My ultimate nightmare is FCP ends up feeling like Avid. Ugh, barf.

April 19, 2009 at 2:06 pmStart to feel like Avid? I think it already has, at least in terms of being the leader (in terms of installed user base) that takes their position for granted.

Hi
There are some indirect facts out there – this was posted Feb 2009:
https://jobs.apple.com/index.ajs?BID=1&method=mExternal.showJob&RID=30024&CurrentPage=46
Job title Video Editor Product Designer, Pro App
Apple’s Pro Apps Design Group is seeking a passionate video editor who understands the complexity of software product design.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years of experience as a video editor…
-Expert-level knowledge of editing, motion graphics, and finishing suites like FCP, Avid, Smoke,
Luster, etc.
-The ideal candidate is not afraid of a blank white board or blank screen…And of course Steve himself quashed these ‘for sale’ rumours last May:

Comment from: Steve Jobs
This rumor is false. Competitors have been trying to spread it around for a few months now. Apple’s Pro business is thriving and it is not for sale. Period. Steve[UPDATE: 5:31pm EDT: – Comment posted… in Reader Feedback (stamped May 02, 08 – 05:13 pm) from “Steve Jobs” did indeed come from an Apple Inc. IP address in Cupertino, CA. We’re not saying it is from Mr. Jobs, but it did come from Apple.]
