Hi and thanks in advance for your help.

I am a fairly new FCP user and am trying to help out a friend with a project. I am afraid I may have volunteered to early!

I have a hard drive with the video footage that he gave me. It is “widescreen” (anamorphic) video, but it was exported as 720×486 quicktime files. When I import them into my FCP timeline, which I have set to Anamorphic, the clips stay square instead of goign to the correct widescreen format.

Is there a setting to make the clips get stretched out properly?

    Thanks!
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
BEFORE to drag your footage to the time-line, make sure that they are checked as Anamorphic in the Anamorphic column on the Browser.
