video filters
Does anyone know how to work with filters and have the changes made immediately showing in the viewer? I know I´ve been able to do it this way before, but at the moment I have to drag the new changes of the filter down to the selected clip for them to manifest themselves visually.

Apply the filter to a clip in the timeline. Open the clip from the timeline into the viewer. Got to the controls tab. With the playhead over the clip in the timeline the changes you make to the filter will appear in the canvas.

Thank you. I didn’t quite get it though. By Applying the filter to a clip in the timeline you mean that I drag the filter down to the clip, or not? And to Open the clip from the timeline into the viewer I just dubble click the clip?
Anyway that’s what I did. And then Go to the controls tab. What’s the controls tab?
Sorry. I didn’t understand anything basically. (With the playhead over the clip in the timeline the changes you make to the filter will appear in the canvas. )What is the playhead?

There is a Final Cut Pro Basics forum where you should take this question, but before you do that you should read a little bit about using the application or view some tutorials. We can’t teach you how to use this kind of an application in forum messages when you don’t even know the most rudimentary terminology of the application.

oh. now I got it. I pulled out the filterstab from undeneath the clip showing in the canvas an I can now see and work on both simultaniously. Yes!
