June 21, 2007 at 8:13 pmYou select the mask SHAPE property, copy, select the light’s POSITION property, then paste. You’ll get roving keyframes. Check the help if you have to.
Keep in mind that masks are flat, 2D. The light will follow the path, but in one plane only. If you want to deviate from that plane, you’ll have to move the position keyframes manually.

June 22, 2007 at 5:05 pmYou can animate the light’s position (select the layer and hit ‘p’) or point of interest (select the layer and hit ‘a’) properties just like other layers. Create a starting keyframe and an ending keyframe and you’ve got motion! If you want to create a more complicated path then I recommend selecting the layer and looking at the motion path in 4 views (camera, top, left, front). From here you can use the pen tool (g) to add keyframes, and change bezier handles just like a mask (in 3D!).
