  • Error while importing P2 footage.. HELP!!!! =(

Posted by Jasmine Bobe on April 7, 2009 at 2:30 am

Hello all. I am trying to import P2 footage captured on a HVX900. My understanding is that I would have to capture this footage through the Edit-> Capture and Log window. When I do this I can see the video play back in the window but there seems to be some distortion in certain frames of the video clip. It is on the same frames every time. Here is an image to show what the error looks like:

I am concerned that the actual video files may have been corrupted when transfered from the P2 card to the external hard drive. Any ideas as to what this is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but yes, the actual video files are like that..they have been recorded this way. No way to fix. But what this indicates is a dirty card connection. There is dust and/or dirt either in the card where the holes are, or on the camera where the connectors are. Get some canned air and blow it on the connections, clean them out.

Thank your for your help with this Shane. That was what I was worried about =(. I was not the cameraman (or woman as it where) for the shoot, so I will have to let them know. Thanks again!!!!

    Hi,

I have the same problem, except I used two separate cards in the same Camera and they both came up like that.

And the weird thing is that I shot something the previous day and had no problem.

Are you sure that it has to be how I recorded it?
Is there no way to fix this?
