  • Final Cut Pro only plays every other two audio tracks?

Posted by Kree Stephens on April 6, 2009 at 5:23 pm

This is the second time this has happened to me. I use one of the work stations with final cut pro at my university and sometimes the program, say you have audio on tracks 1-20, will not play tracks 1 and 2, but play 3 and 4, wont play 5 and 6, but will play 7 and 8. I don’t know why this is, is anyone familiar with the issue and how to get around this?

The workers at my university have no idea…

Is it not playing? Or do you mean you hear no sound on those tracks? Some codecs allow 4 tracks of audio vs 2, but that doesn’t mean sound is always assigned to all 4 channels – 2 of the tracks might be empty – take a look at your waveform and see. Also make sure nothing is muted, soloed, potted down, etc. If you look at your audio mixer, you can see your output levels.

Look at your audio output tab of your Sequence settings.
