So, I recently was editing on location using a MacBook pro and firewire g-raid 1TB drives going in the 800 port. I was digitizing via firewire 400 HDV 1080i footage along with DVCProHD tapes also going in firewire 400. Everything seemed to be just fine until I noticed some of the DVCPro clips would just go black towards the end and have speed issues…As in they would be twice the speed; even in the capture scratch. I also noticed that some of the clips would be “offline” and when I went to reconnect them, they would reconnect with non-corresponding footage. What I started doing was making a separate project for each format and that seemed to work, but can anyone explain why this would happen? Is there a way to work with both formats in the same project?
