  crashing

  i just started learning AE and i was doing a project and the program crashed and it seems to keep crashing, before it closes it comes up with an error message that says ” after effects error: crash occured while invoking plug-in effect “tint”.” if you have a solution for how i can stop this please help me out

  Stop using Tint and see if that helps. You can replace Tint with Effects->Generate Fill. If you have the Cycore plugins installed, then you’d want to look at CC Toner, which does a better job.

  as per my response to your post in the other basics forum, disabling opengl when troubleshooting opengl accelerated effects like tint may help.

  and if you do have an intel-mac, the cycore effects are unstable in ae7 too (i’m sure its related to the powerpc emulation envolved in running ae7). so beware and save often when using those effects.
