Motion blur
I’m debating whether I should render motion blur (mostly camera swish panning) out of my 3D app, or out of after effects when compositing. Maya’s mental ray renderer offers a host of solid motion blurring parameters, each more time consuming then the next. But I can get accuracy by punching in the right settings.
My question is this: Is motion blurring in AE done entirely by eyeballing it? A camera pan, for example, accelerates and decelerates. Does AE (which I clearly have much to learn about) consider this, or must I keyframe it all myself?
