• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  FCE Not support .M4V?

  I’m trying to edit together many .M4V files in Final Cut Express but it is saying they are not supported. Is there any freeware out there that can convert these to a supported file or anyway to update FCE to support this file type? Any info will be helpful, thanks.

  Try MPEG Streamclip — set it to export to Quicktime DV

  I just set up a friend with this software, and run into this. You can bring the m4v into FCE (4) and then export then from the Bin into DV (for SD) or AIC-HDV (for HD) then bring in those new files for editing.

  The kicker is most people using this are moving up from iMovie, which handles m4v but all the conversion is happening under the hood.
