  Digitizing Footage into FCP

  I am trying to digitize footage from a mini dv into final cut pro. when i press play the tape seems to play like its in fast forward mode even though i am just pressing play. Is there a way to fix this? Could this be a deck problem or a tape issue? Not sure what to look for. if anyone could help out i would appreciate it.

  It sounds like you’re capturing off a camera, yes?
  If so, make sure it’s set to accept external remote control and that you use the fcp easy setup preset “Firewire basic”.
  It’s hard to give more advice with the information you’ve given here, but I hope that helps.

  What settings are you using within FCP? The ones I mentioned previously work with the Sony DSR45AP DVCAM deck. Are you using Firewire or a video card system?
