  Convert 720p24 DVCPro to 1080i60 in software?

  Hi,

  I have an FCP project edited with all footage shot at DVCPro 720p24. Is there a way to cleanly output the finished project to 1080i60 for broadcast using either FCP or Compressor? Please explain if there is. There are no decks or capture cards involved, and reimporting the original footage is impossible. Delivery will be a Quicktime file.

  Would this he easier next time with footage shot at DVCPro 720p30? Please assume shooting at 1080i is not possible.

  FCP won’t work. It doesn’t add 3:2 pulldown. Compressor should work though I haven’t tried it.

  Curious, are you sure you can’t deliver 1080psf 23.98? Strange that a tapeless delivery needs to be 1080i.

  Sean, thanks for your help.

  I’m producing TV spots in HD in a small market. HD is a totally new option here, and nobody knows much about it The station airing the spot claims they only air 1080i60, which is the only format they produce their own spots in (shooting HDV). I suppose I could deliver the spot as I’ve created it, but the station will still have to convert it (and they have no better hardware resources than I do).

  I figure the conversion is possible in Compressor, but don’t know that program well and want to know if there are specific steps I should follow, or particular techniques that provide the best results.
