Working with a Sony HDR-FX1. Shot in HDV format. Set FCP Easy set up to “Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60”
    Question

    1) The log and capture window doesnt appear when selected in file menu. Just a window that allows you to name your clip. Is that how HDV captures? should I use another Easy Setup option?

    2) When I do capture this way it seems to randomly make clips for you. Even though while it captured it never shows that it made new clips. And it doesnt even capture everything that it seemed to capture.

    Whats happening here?
    Thanks for your help.

Ok Just changed the settings to “HDV1080i50” When I try to capture it gives you a “unable to read timecode” message. Im new to this HDV thing. Why is this happening?

Thanks Yeah I figured it out earlier. The camera was set to Auto instead of HDV in VTR mode. Thanks again for responding.
