    Hi,

I need to export my film from my Mac Pro to Beta SP and have access to a Beta SP machine. I have been recommended to get the Blackmagic decklink SP PCIE.

Does anyone know about this card and if it’s easy to install and use?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Oliver,
That video card is a classic.
I think that the model is discontinued but probably will still be available.
The model that replace it I think is this one (more expensive):

Really easy to install and manage.
Be careful with kind of PCI your computer uses: PCI-X PCI-e.

    Thanks for the help.

Do you know how big the difference will be between a transfer to miniDV and a transfer to Beta SP?

Betacam SP is a “reduced Chroma” format (Color Under).
DV is also a reduced chroma format (downsampled color) but digital.
Many people says they are similar because the Signal to Noise and Band-with of both formats are similar.
But for me here its ends the similarity.
If you can print to Betacam instead of DV, do not hesitate one second: Go to Betacam.
