Color Grading: Best order of steps?
Hi, I’m about to grade a short film, and its my first foray into this side of the tracks, so looking for some advice! It’s not an extensive overhaul the director wants; theres a few issues with the footage (over exposures, under exposures) and I’d like to give it that filmy look (how many times has THAT been said on this board, huh?) I understand how to do it, I’m just not sure of the best order in which to do it!
Can someone give me advice on which steps should be taken at which point?
i.e. is it better to de-interlace first? change black/white levels first? is it better to change exposure before effecting colour? if applying grain, is that something that should happen last?
I understand there may not be any hard
Would very much appreciate some advice.
