made a video with a hand held sony camera from costco for school and the project is done the only problem is that on the computer it very dramatic looking and once on a dvd played on a (crt) t.v. it its not so dramatic.
-what can i do to make it look dramatic once on a dvd?
-can i give it a film look to help with this problem?
-what would be the best way to do this willing to spend spend some money on filters Magic Bullet ect…
for magic bullet would i need to buy the full suite or just a one plugin? and which one

i understand that film look goes much further than just adding some grain. so what do i do to keep it simple and looking dramatic once on a dvd

    James,
Your right there are a variety of plugins and FXs for filmlook, but there is a simple way for you to acheive what you want. First add a DeInterlace effect and set it for max smooth. Next add noise to simulate grain adj to taste. Add contrast, and finally increase saturation. You will have to play with settings to get what you are looking for but these are the ingedients. Here are some videos I did with some purchased filters try to get close. Send me a link when finished. Good luck.

If you watched your movie in a computer and then in a TV and the drama is gone in the middle, start by de-interlacing your movie.
