  AE Card wipe but by using circles to wipe??

  is this possible?

  in card wipe. wipe is achieved by flipping of rectangular panels. is it possible to change the shape of this rectangles to flipping circles? it probably won’t be a perfect wipe as there will be residue space btween the circles. but what i am trying to achieve is rows of circles flipping just the way the rectangles do in AE’s card wipe

  The big layer to which the effect is applied will need to have an alpha channel (silhouette) that looks like a grid of circles.

  Try making a grid of circles with Motion Tile or maybe CC Ball Action, and use that grid as a track matte for your big layer. Put those two in a comp, then drag that comp into the main comp and apply the effect.

  Not directly, no.

  You could create a tiled circle matte on top of your main layer and position them to become the matte sources for the Card Wipe or Card Dance.
  It’s not particularly difficult but presumes solid competency in mattes.
