  • Video with NTSC and PAL deliverables…

    Hi gang,

I shot some video that is ultimately going to be needed in both NTSC and PAL formats (DVD) when I’m all done editing.

As I sit here with my DV tapes, I am wondering if I need to be thinking about this as I am capturing the video. Do I need to capture it in 2 different formats? Or is it easier to capture/edit/render in NTSC (I’m in the US) and then use some type of software to convert to PAL for my Paris-based client?

I am new to this stuff, and I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot by doing a whole project in NTSC and then having to re-create it for PAL, or something. What’s the best way to create a video in both formats?

    I’m using Final Cut/DVD Studio Pro…

    Many thanks!
    Nathan

You can edit in 29.97 and convert your finished project to PAL with DVFilm Atlantis.

    Hope this is helpful

You can edit in 29.97 and convert to PAL with Compressor, which does a fairly good job and is installed with FCP.
