  • Sequence Settings – two clips with different settings

So I’m editing a group of clips that came from mini dv. The size is (720 x 480 ) which is the sequence pre-set. Great.

Now here’s the problem. I’m also using graphics that was given to me by a third party graphic house. The size of these clips are (720 x 486). This of course, does not match the rest of the sequence, so it looks a little compressed and not the best quality when dropping it into my sequence with the 720×480 preset. I don’t want to change the sequence settings just for the graphics, because that will then affect the quality of my clips that came from mini-dv.

Anyone have any idea how to have both mini-dv clips(720×480) and graphic clips(720×486) the best quality on the same sequence?

Thanks for your help and time.

    Hi Pete,
In Users Preferences> Editing: Uncheck Always Scale Clip to Sequence size.
Your clip won’t be resized, only the 6 lines will be cropped.

Thanks Rafael. I unchecked the box in User Preferences, and the clip then looks the way it should after it’s dropped into the sequence and the frame is viewed in the canvas. However, after I render it, it goes back to looking compressed. Any idea why?
