After doing a clean install (after a crash)I’ve run into a roadblock, I think.

After installing Tiger, I wanted to activate QT v.7 Pro by putting in my reg. #, but don’t remember where I may have written that number it’s been so long, or if it was ever required during my previous installation.

Will it become available after I install fcps2 from my intall disk?

I have my serial # for fcps2, but just don’t remember what the steps were for QT…..if I’m supposed to have a separate serial # somewhere for that.

QT Pro is automatically installed as part of Final Cut Studio. There is no need to register it separately.

On a related note, a previous user of this system a few years back had put in a registration name/code for QT Pro. I don’t know if it was legitimate or a crack. When I some time later installed the FC Studio 1 upgrade from FCP HD 4.5, the QuickTime splash screen still shows the earlier QT Pro registration info, rather than the “Final Cut Pro User” generic name that should show up. While this affects nothing operationally, is there a way to change/update this info somewhere in Quicktime pref or other files?

Sounds like you’re long overdue for ground-up reinstallation of the OS and FCS Chuck. Meanwhile, if your issue does not affect operations, forget about it., as you might affect more things than you wish by messing with QT.
