Any of you kids working ADR into your pictures? If so, drop me a line! I want to put together some choice nuggets for an article.

I’ll be interested in finding out how many of our readers even know what ADR is.bogiesan

February 10, 2009 at 7:12 pmWe’ve got plenty of people who know what ADR is. As I requested, they’ve written me directly. So far, a multiple Emmy winner, an Oscar winner (only won one Oscar so far, alas), and some indie filmmakers. The Cow is replete with production whizzes, not just software posties.
Heck, I’m even looking forward to hearing from students taking their first forays into audio production.
Again, anyone who’s got a yarn to spin, drop a line directly.
As for the rest of the class, well, they’ll be learning about ADR soon enough. 🙂
Thanks,

February 11, 2009 at 3:49 pmWell heck, I gotta be around the same age as Bogie, and I never heard of ADR.
Have a wonderful day.

Yeah, but you painted Mahavishnu album covers and so we forgive you.
🙂
Even the ADR guys forgive you because while they can do what they do, they didn’t get to do what you did.
It is all a balance, Grasshopper.
Om, om on the range…

February 17, 2009 at 6:46 pmRon, that was info in Chris’ secret Cow dossier. Now he’s probably going to file under the freedom of information act to get all the rest. You’d better start redacting names and places immediately.

How in the heck did you know about Mahavishnu?
Have a wonderful day.

February 19, 2009 at 12:32 amHow did I know? I am an old progger/fusion music fan that loved Mahavishnu Orchestra and remember thinking that they had some of the best covers at the time. Loved your work.
Speaking of prog/fusion bands, I recently got to co-produce two of the most recent albums by Strawbs (you might remember them from their years on A&M with albums like “Bursting at the Seams” and “Hero & Heroine”). It was something I’ll never forget as they were one of my favorite 70s bands.
Have fun, Chris.
Best regards,
