  Real Time Exports

  Hi Everyone,
  I’m looking for a way to export out of FCP or by using 3rd party software in real time. So basically, the length of my export would be the length of my program. Preferably mp4/H.264 format.

  Does anyone know the best way to get closest to this or if it exists at all?

  There are some kickbutt real time encoders for the PeeCee/Winderz users but not much for useful codecs on the Macintosh. Try google for REAL TIME ENCODER, there may be something that has come on the market recently. Whatever it is, it won’t be cheap and it won’t be the codec you want.

  Using Episode with an 8 Core Mac is pretty darn fast. Just export a Reference file from your timeline and depending on how good of a resolution you need for the H.264 it can be near or even faster than realtime.

  You can use an Elgato Turbo.264 for encoding to H.264 in near realtime. But you’ll need to export a reference movie from FCP first.
