60p to 24p
Some footage was given to me and I would like this footage to have a look like it were shot on film. I would like to know the best way to accomplish this.
The footage was shot 720 at 60p on a Panasonic camera. The files were given to me already encoded in the DVCPro HD codec (960 x 720). I tried one test in Final Cut Pro. I brought the footage into FCP placed it in a sequence with a frame rate of 23.98. When I played it back, the results were passable, but there was a little more jitter than I believe I saw with shooting in 24p. Is there another way of accomplishing this or is dropping the 60p footage on a 24p timeline the best way to go?
