Goal is to export an FCP timeline to Compressor.
Then set Compressor to encode m2v for dvd, submit, open Batch monitor and watch time elapse tick away while there is nothing in the status bar.
There’s also no action in FCP where usually there’s a window & status bar & “frame” ticker going on for the duration of the encode.

    I’ve tried Compressor Repair.
I reinstalled Compressor after using FCP Remover.
I want to the Apple.com support white page with the Compressor removal directions. Nothing helps.

Any ideas? How did it get so broke that I have to try a complete OS reinstall?

Clean the “History” and send a new job.

Try to export your timeline as a reference movie and then import that movie into Compressor for conversion. This is generally accepted as the most efficient way to do it and may solve your problem.

Yeas I tried that… clearing History and Que. Didn’t help.

Thanks. I tried that and it didn’t help. I just finished a complete OS erase & reinstall. Now Compressor works. Serious loss of productivity.
Maybe the issue, if it returns, will be remedied once I update to FCP 6.0.5 et al. I’m still at 6.0.4 as the rest of my company’s editors/computers haven’t made the update yet.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Lucas,
If you just have re-installed the full lot, make your self a favor and run DiskWarrior or TechTools.
Is the only way to start with a really clean system.

i guess this is already resolved but for what it´s worth there´s a cool little freeware program called “compressor repair” that seems to fix everything that goes wrong with compressor.
