I have a project in ProRes 422 720p 23.98. Three of my sources are shot at 720p (1280×720 23.98) and one source is at 1080i (1920×1080 29.97), where the frame rate shows up in FCP as stated.

My sequence in about 15 minutes long. I cut 5 interview clips from the 1080 source cut into the sequence. The first three play back fine with the other footage, not frame jitter. The fourth and fifth clips play back with frame jitter. I assume what is happening is the FCP interpolating the frame rate difference, but why not on all clips consistently?

Some background, 720p shot on Panasonic Varicam DVCpRo, 1080i is shot on the Panasonic 900 DVCpro. I guess to add to the confusion, I understand how FCP sees the 60i footage as 29.97, but why does the 720p come in at 23.98?
