Basketball scoreboard
Ok, I don’t know if anything is available that would save me a LOT of time editing a basketball game but if anyone knows of a more efficient way to do a scoreboard that would be awesome.
Of course I can make a template scoreboard in photoshop and manually change the score (which is what I have done for football games in post) but since basketball is so much more fast paced and high scoring, it will take forever to edit in a “live” scoreboard!
Is there a better way perhaps in the way of a plugin or something? Even having to invest in something might be a possibility as we produce DVDs for many sports games.

If you’re going to be doing a lot of these, would it not be worthwhile to invest in a very cheap camera and point it at the scoreboard the entire game? then all you have to do is overlay it onto the game play.
You can look at livetype or motion as they may at least have some sort of a clock function you can use to create that. Create and render one master clock that starts at 12:00 or 15:00, whatever the periods are and render that out completely as a self contained movie and you’ll always have that.
As for the scores themselves, can’t think of anything other than manual since you have to change the score based on when someone actually scores.
I use After Effects when I have to create countdown clocks, but that would be overkill if that’s all you’re going to do with it.
