Removing audio in FCP
I hope I’m posting this in the right section but please excuse me in advance if its not. I just began using FCP and I’m very confused with a lot of it. Maybe someone can help with my current dilema. I have several clips where there is someone talking in them. I’d prefer not to mute the whole clip. I’d like to be able to basically cut this persons voice out. What is the best way to do that. I’m new to editing and FCP in general so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the family. We were all new to this tool at one point. FCP is really big and deep. You’ve got to dig into the tutorials, study some books on the craft, find out what EDITING is and then learn how to use FCP to ccomplish that task. You can’t learn the craft of editing by posting questions here.
You can rubberband the audio track using keyframes to control the levels of each channel independently. Setting keyframes for audio levels is a fundamental piece of the interface and the craft.
If you are trying to selectively cancel out the frequency range occupied by the speaker, that’s a bit moe complex and requires that you take the audio file to a more sophisticated tool such as SoundtrackPro or Logic. And it’s a highly advanced function.
