Major problem… We noticed the other day the that some how the internal HD was filled up. It seems that FCP is rendering files to a folder on the internal HD that has the application software. The scratch disk is set to a RAID and when we digitize footage it is definitely going onto the RAID. Somehow the rendered files are going to the internal HD, the folder is getting buried inside the library folder. We have reset the scratch disk setting several times and it does not make a difference. We just upgraded to 6.05 and it has probably been that way for several projects, we did not notice until the drive gave us warnings. We are editing with HDV footage so it does not take up that much space. Is their a new menu that controls were the rendered file go? The drive is filled up and I cannot render any more file, it will not go to the RAID. Thanks in advance.

Okay. Into the bowels of FCP you go.

    Please be careful!

    First, Quit FCP.

Then find your FCP application in your applcations folder, right click and choose ‘Show Package Contents’.

Find the ‘Final Cut Pro Documents’ folder in there and delete it and empty the trash.

    Then, trash your FCP preferences.

Open FCP, reset your prefs for the scrath disk, then you should be good.
