  General Error!!!!

  Hi all,

  Would appreciate any help possible I’m on the edge!!

  Editing a project from a domestic sony hard drive camera.

  After much pissing around i discovered the best codec at reasonable data rate and good quality was;

  Motion JPEG B
  85% quality

  Have been working on the project for a while and got to the point where i needed to render, the rendering process starts but then pops up saying GENERAL ERROR, it will render straight text with no video behind it.

  I have tryed;

  Changing the render disk to the internal drive
  Changing the RGB/YUV settings
  Quitting/shutting down
  Rendering different time lines with the same codec
  Leaving it to auto render
  Changing quality in the sequence settings to 100%
  Emptying all render files
  Clearing all missing media files from the project

  I have checked that all the media is read/wright enabled and moved a clip off the external drive onto the internal, imported it and testing if that rendered, no joy.

  Been reading some other threads but no one ever seems to have given a conclusive answer

  Please help!!
