    Hi all,

I’m working in FCP6 and using edit to tape via firewire to a Sony DSR1800A DVCAM deck. I am doing this in assemble edit mode. I’ve pre-blacked a couple of minutes off the top of this tape.

Both the tape and the sequence are 29.97fps.

When I edit to tape I am losing the first 18 frames of my sequence. The in point on the tape is accurate, but I am losing frames off the top of my sequence.

There’s probably more info you may need, but this is all I have for now. I’ve been through all of my settings (FCP and the deck) and everything seems equal.

The one thing that I did notice is that during ETT, the deck only pre-rolls about 40 frames (seems way to short as both the deck and FCP are set to a 5 second pre-roll).

    I’m a bit confounded.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

    Bob
