  Artifacts on screen after Leopard install…

  I had to re-install Leopard on my Powermac G5 earlier this week and the one major thing I noticed that was different is I am seeing artifacts or “anamolies” when I am scrolling via the wheel on the mouse or if I am dragging the mouse across the screen and clicking on files etc. This was NOT an issue in the past and now that I have re-installed Leopard I can’t seem to figure out what is causing it and how to fix it. Sometimes when I am dragging the mouse it makes a trail of whatever across the screen. It will go away eventually but then more show up…the more I move the mouse around that is.

  It’s a pain in the neck when I am trying to edit and I have to deal with this.

  Any suggestions?

  I am using a ATI RADEON 9600 Pro AGP graphics card for my older Powermac G5. As for monitor I am actually using a Flat screen Panel TV via the DVI port. The resolution of the card is set to 1280×1024 (its the only resolution listed in my display preferences for some reason).

  I first put Leopard on my computer back in August 2008 and I didnt notice this then but when I re-installed Leopard earlier this week I am noticing this issue.

  This is a really long shot but go to your control panel and make sure that everything to do with Universal Access is turned off. Everything. Cycle through the tabs to make sure.
