June 5, 2007 at 3:55 amCongratulations!
Well, the first question is: what changed on your PC between then and now?
And second, as a workaround, can you import the erroneous project into a brand new project?

June 5, 2007 at 4:02 amDude! You’ve indeed progressed.
Try the Shift key down during AE’s initialising stage – keep the key down all the way through. That’ll keep the plugins from loading – I believe that encasing the folder name in the OS with square brackets does the same thing. Hopefully it’s plugin related and not some issue entrenched within the AEP itself.
Good Luck

June 5, 2007 at 2:50 pmThanks for the advice.
What’s changed? Nothing. I might have moved a few files around but that’s about it. I don’t think any of the files were even related to the project though.
I’ll try holding down the shift key.

June 5, 2007 at 4:21 pmOkay well, I tried kolding down the shit key with no alternate effect. Should I reinstall? Will that mess my projects up?

June 5, 2007 at 4:23 pmAlso, I can open every other project. It;s just the one that I need tht isn’t working. Does After Effects have some kind of auto save vault similar to Avid where you can restore previous saves of the project?

June 5, 2007 at 6:58 pmWell, I tried everything in that thread to no avail.
one question, is importing a project into a new project different that hitting CTRL + I and selecting the project file? Is there a special way to do this?
As a last resort, it also said I could try to download the trial version of CS3 and open it in that. Right now I’m using AE PRO 7.
Any thoughts would be grand!

June 6, 2007 at 1:06 pmConclusion:
Well, I did try a reinstall. Unfortunately I was never able to get that project back. From now on, I’ll always “Increment and save”.
