    Hello

Can anyone explain to me why sometimes when placing a fade in fade out transition, the effect is sometimes very specific as to how much this effect could be used at that one particular edit. I have a three and a half minute piece where fade in and fade out transition is used and when I tried to extend the effect to occur over a longer period of time, it won’t allow me to do so, while the other fade in and fade out transitions throughout the piece allow me to.

    Thanks for your time

Do you understand the concept of handles for transitions?

Tom, thanks for the nice explanatory link. I work with students and get this question all the time.
