dvcpro hd 1080p30. getting interlaced?
Posted by Christina Rule on December 19, 2008 at 9:06 pmI have footage that is shot with a Panasonic camera (not 100% what model) but it was shot dvcpro hd 1080p30. When i got the footage via hard drive and brought it into final cut I noticed that there was interlacing. Why would this be if it was shot at 1080p?

December 19, 2008 at 9:22 pmEither the footage wasn’t shot 1080p30 or your sequence is set up incorrectly.

December 19, 2008 at 9:29 pmHey Jeremy
my seq settings are set up right( i believe) the seq is set at
frame size 1280×1080
aspect ratio 16:9
frame rate 29.97
compressor DVCPRO HD 1080PNow is it possible that they maybe transfered it from the P2 to the hard drive wrong?
you think that maybe it wasnt shot 1080p but why would the .mov files say that they are those settings then?

December 19, 2008 at 10:00 pmField dominance is set to ‘none’?
i have also seen that if they shot 24pA that it shows up for some reason as 30p. That could be your issue as well.

December 19, 2008 at 11:08 pmYou have to remove the pulldown when you import it and you should be left with 23.98 files and your sequence should be 23.98

December 20, 2008 at 12:27 amIf it was shot with a Panny DVCProHD HDX900. The camera is switchable for 720/1080. But, when its set to 1080/60 it’s only interlaced. There is no 1080/60p on that camera. Progressive is only for the 720 settings.
That might be your issue.
