  720p50 in a PAL SD timeline…

  Sorry for harping on and on but this whole HD-SD for broadcast problem has my head wrecked!!

  Following a lengthy thread on the subject and lots of help, combined with reading just about everything on the internet I’m still confused. About the only simple solid thing I can think to do is buy a Kona LH for my pci G5 and get a hardware downconvert which is hopefully great.

  Regarding the 720p50 problem:

  When I drop my 720p50 footage into a 10bit Uncompressed SD Pal timeline and render I get strobing similar to p25 footage, the stuff I shoot on 1080i50 and drop into the same timeline seems much better. Do I need to do something with field order ? I’m still deciding what format to shoot my doc. on my ex-1 for delivery on digibeta for SD broadcast…..
