    Hi all,

I’m trying to capture some video from a VHS tape into Final Cut. I’ve got a Kona LHe card with a Sima CT-2. I’m plugging the VCR into the Sima which then goes through the LHe to my computer. However, nothing is showing up in the log and capture on my Final Cut. It doesn’t seem to matter what capture settings I use. I’ve fooled around with the AJA control panel and just can’t seem to get the right combo.

    Any ideas?

    Thank a bunch!

is the sima ct-2 a product to remove macrovision, or copy protection ? There is no built in Frame Sync to the Kona LHe, and God only knows what the CT-2 is doing to the sync interval.

I suggest that you close FCP, open only the AJA control panel, select INPUT PASSTHRU in the control tab, select analog composite on the input tab, plug your VHS composite out into the Y input of the Kona LHe (forget the Sima for now), and play a regular VHS tape into the Kona. Look at the output of the Kona on any TV monitor (using the Y output, and the analog tab on composite) – do you see a picture ?
