  • How do I stop CCTV Strobing?

Posted by Cody Alberts on December 11, 2008 at 7:27 pm

I have a piece that I am working on, and there is a scene where a CCTV was shot because we were not allowed in the room. I have tried almost all filters that I think would help, with no good results. The footage was shot at 23.98 with no scan adjustments in camera…

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated!

I cant post stills or video because of NDA…

What’s a CCTV? Do you mean a CRT? If so, I don’t think there’s any way of removing those lines. Call it a look.

    Have a wonderful day.

Sorry for not being more clear. It’s a shot of a CRT surveillance monitor.

This was shot in the moment. I don’t think that its possible to get the source recording. It seems that the interlacing is adding to the problem so I am going to try to reverse telecine the clip and to see if that helps when a filter is applied…

    Thanks for the great response!!!
