Hi, I’m relatively new to FCP, so sorry if this is a really dumb question.

I have an interview to edit (head and shoulder, floating head). I’m now at the stage where i have to colour correct it. My issue is that the interview was filmed up against a black backdrop and the interviewee is wearing a dark coloured shirt. The interviewee is also casting a slight shadow on the backdrop, and when i go to lower the blacks to get rid of the shadow, the interviewee fades into the background too because of how dark their shirt is.

Is there a quick way of telling FCP to only apply the colour correction to a specific area?

I’m Sure the Programme Color can do this, but i’ve not learnt how to use it, and often have a lot of these interviews to get through, so was really after a quick fix.

    Many thanks
